The Wallflowers of West Lane get up to no good at Geb Arafa’s homes all the time. It’s like they use his houses for scandal and nothing more. Poor Geb! Now Nick and Faith are in trouble in Misleading a Duke at an Arafa property. And trust me, it’s worth your time to find out why!

Nicholas, Duke of Breckenridge, and Lady Faith have been dancing around their betrothal since it became known that Faith’s mother was the one that had romanced Nick via letters rather than Faith. Worse yet, Faith spent months trying to investigate his intentions and figure out his secrets, much to his chagrin because Nick has things to hide–since he’s a spy for the Crown.

Misleading A Duke is a much better story than The Earl Not Taken, and the plot is on point. I have no complaints about pacing or characterization. I love Faith. I think Nick is great–wait, I do have a whinge–Nick says sweetheart, A LOT!. Like a lot-a lot. But this book is two stars better than the last one. I very much enjoyed it.

So now Poppy and Faith are spoken for, Mercy is next! Yay!

I love Piper Lawson, and this book is classic Piper Lawson.

Daisy and Ben are besties. They met in college, and they have had one another’s backs since way back in the day. Their friendship is like the US Postal creed sorta, neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these two Fortnite players on a Friday night. But what these two don’t know and their friends suspect–is about to come to light when they play boyfriend and girlfriend for a month. These two want one another.

I really loved this one. Twisted Love was pretty typical, but the characters were great. The corporate world-building was fascinating. I especially loved how Piper Lawson showed that it was a small elite world of movers and shakers. And Ben’s mom is a hoot–a tragic hoot but a hoot all the same.

I highly recommend this for anyone how enjoys Lauren Blakely.

The full moon has long had an aura and mystery that has made it an integral part of humanity’s myths and legends. Such is the case of Sisters of the Moon, where the lunar cycles and their power have sway over the women who live in the convent of St. Gertrude.

The moon is tied to the ever-changing cycle of women’s’ bodies. This may be why witches believed that magic is supposedly at its most powerful during the full moon, and since many women were associated with witchcraft and healing, the moon became their symbol.

The beginnings of giving the moon a female essence go back to the ancients when Luna in Latin and Selene in Greek, both female names and deities in the Roman and Greek pantheons, were attributed to the moon. The Incas in South America have a myth where a brother and sister, the moon maiden, and the sun man are the ancestors of their people. Native Americans share similar folklore where the woman’s role is portrayed as dark and influenced by the moon’s cycles. The sun is considered masculine because of its life-giving power and endurance Sol in Latin and Sunne in Old English and is deemed masculine by astronomers. Many mythologies have male solar deities–the Greek god Apollo, the Roman god Sol, the Mesopotamian god Utu, and the Egyptian god Ra. It would seem women remained in the shadows of the sun even among the gods.
