The gates of Hell are crumbling as two monsters fight for the throne. Their prize?

My soul—or so they think.

I’ve played Bennett’s game for too long and in exchange for what I want, he requires me to follow the third rule.

And what I want is Wilson Moreno dead by my hand.

Bennett says you can’t win playing games against the devil, but he’s made me into a bigger monster than he is. When I win against him, I’ll have some rules of my own.

He will bow.

He will break.

He will be destroyed.

Guest Post: Eve Corso on Writing in a Pandemic

Eve Corso
Eve Corso

Hello. I would first and foremost like to introduce myself. My name is Eve Corso and I am the author of six books in print, all contemporary romances. I have two series. The first is the Esteban & Marialena series, which contains 3 books, and the second is a Matter of Timing series, which is a 2-part series. I also have a stand-alone book called You & Me in Washington, D.C. which is loosely based on the time when I lived on the East coast.

The question has been raised to me. How has this pandemic affected my writing? You know, I think like the pandemic itself, I find myself with ups and downs during this time. I think at the beginning, there was a different kind of energy surrounding me. I thought to myself, finally, I have all this time now to write. Then, I was looking at something like two weeks being off. What I didn’t know was how long this was going to last. And the longer it’s lasting, the more my writing has fallen to the wayside. It’s not from a lack of wanting or trying. It’s mostly that I don’t feel creative as a writer right now. When I look back at my words these past few weeks, none of it excites me, and I might have to go back and scrap it all when I figure out how I want to re-write it.

Summary:

Mila

Secrets. Lies. Deception.

It’s all part of his vendetta, and so am I. He stole me, used me as one of his pawns by forcing me into a marriage I wanted no part of. I had to sign my name on the dotted line, and now he owns me…body, mind, and soul.

That’s why I ran. I had to escape the monster whose touch corrupted me. Break free from the man who seduced me, the beast who gave me a taste of the darkness.

But now I crave it. I need it. I need him.

I’m his to play with…until I break.

Saint

Distraction. Addictive. Toxic.

Mila wasn’t supposed to be anything more than a signature, a beautiful secret, a wife with no voice. Instead, she became an addiction, a complication that could cost me everything—a price I wasn’t willing to pay…until she ran from me.

Now, the game has changed, and the stakes are much higher. She thinks she’s seen the worst of me, convinced I couldn’t be more vicious and cruel. But I’m about to prove her wrong because I’ll risk everything to get what I want.

Revenge…and my wife.

Title: Sweet Chaos (Love and Chaos #2)
Author: Emery Rose
Genre: Contemporary
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well, this book gets an extra star for setting me off on a Pearl Jam binge that hasn’t ended in days.

This book is sexy looking.
This book is sexy reading.
This book is sexy inside and out.

I’m from San Diego, and this book is such a devilish homage that it tickles me to review it.

Dylan St. Clair grew up never having much of any value to anyone other than his twin Remy. That is until he grew into his pretty and sexy phase, and rich trophy wives and rebellious daughters found a purpose for him. It’s easy getting lost to demons when they are the only thing that looks back at you in the mirror, and no one recognizes you for who you are anyway. At least it was like that for Dylan until an eleven-year-old girl scared him straight while he was attempting to sneak into her sister’s bedroom window. Scarlet Woods saw a broken boy when everyone else saw a tool.

Title: The Secrets We Hide (The Four #2)
Author: Becca Steele
Genre: Dark College Stepbrother Romance
My rating:
3 of 5 stars

Ever walk into a conversation you’ve heard before but needed a reminder about the story to get caught up about the deets? The Secrets We Hide has perfect continuity; you should read The Lies We Tell right before it. I didn’t and had to go back and read the last two chapters of TLWT for the refresher.

Don’t be me.

Welcome back to the topsy-turvy underbelly world of Alstone, where money and power are the only real things of worth. The Four and Winter are still trying to uncover what happened to Winter’s father and the shady goings-on that lead Winter to the docks at the end of book one. Alstone Holdings does have a rat in the house. The saying goes, ‘where there is one; there are many.’ The Secrets We Hide has them coming out of the woodwork.

Title: A Love Song for Liars (Rivals #1)
Author: Piper Lawson
Genre: Rock Romance
My rating:
4 of 5 stars

Schooled from the Travesty series is a favorite, so I’m a fan. I haven’t read outside the Travesty series, though, so I’m an ill-educated one. And this series, Rivals, is a spin-off from a previous one entitled Wicked–now you’re caught up.

There is nothing more fickle than a musician’s heart. They write love songs about everything from loving lovers to adoring jams and jellies, and at the end of the day, they have the flagrant disregard for tossing out hearts and empty jars without thought for the vessels. Annie knows this despite a rocker dad with a happily-ever-after. Musicians can’t be trusted, and the most untrustworthy is the owner of her heart and keeper of her secrets, ex-bestie and current-worstie, Tyler Adams. He tossed her aside, and she is determined to stay there.

But rockers and former besties, protectors, and kiss-stealers all have one thing in common: a wrap sheet for stringing Annie along and leaving her heartbroken.

Book Review: When He’s Dark by Suzanne Wright

Title: When He’s Dark (Olympus Pride #1)
Author: Suzanne Wright
Genre: Paranormal Romance
My rating:
3 of 5 stars

Oh. I waited for this, and it’s a split rating. The story is a solid four stars, and the execution is a mess, and it leaves me with an average of why, oh why??!

You don’t eff with a Pallas Cat, and you really don’t eff with the Olympus Pride.

The Olympus Pride is introduced in Bracken and Madisyn’s book Echoes of Fire in the Mercury Pack Series. Vinnie Devereaux allies himself with the Mercury pack as both claim Madisyn under their protection, and that is how we first meet Tate and Luke. Suzanne finished off the Phoenix Pack series with Domenic and Mila’s book introducing us to more Devereaux’s. Which rolls us into this series and my torn into two pieces heart.

Alex Devereaux is Mila’s twin brother and Vinnie’s nephew–but he takes after his mother’s side of the family, and he’s a wolverine, not a Pallas cat. But he does have a soft spot for one Pallas cat, and despite her being more or less inconvenient, and not his true-mate, she is what he lives for, or more aptly put, for what he’s waiting for while he’s passing the time.
