Book It – In News Today: Gideon Reveals His Mmmm Mmmm Cover.

Gideon's-BannerI am more than willing to admit that I am a big effing fangirl when it comes to Airicka Phoenix books. I love them like sharks love chum and I act a little frenzied when I get a taste too. When I read Octavian’s Undoing I was in a hotel in Anaheim, CA while my husband was enjoying Blizz-con. I was so gone on Octavian that he gave me a sore back. Well only because the electric socket in the room was faulty and I had to perch awkward-like on the chair to keep my e-reader plugged in. I forgive him for my discomfort and pain. Riley was the better woman between the pair of us my sore body and yearning heart understood his choice. Where is this rambling going?… I couldn’t wait for the next book and I no longer have to wish on falling stars. Gideon’s story is to come soon! Airicka has revealed the cover of his book and announced that he will be arriving to tell me his story in September. Fear not, there are still a couple more Maxwells.

Any Day That Ends In YA – Just A Touch by Brittany DeLys

Just A Touch - Brittany DeLysI mentioned a few weeks ago that I have been remiss in my YA book reading. I happened to find Brittany DeLys requesting reviewers for Just A Touch on Goodreads and I liked the description of this story. I lucked out because she was looking for ten reviewers and I think from the look of the amount of people who had replied to the post, I snuck in under the wire. I guess you could say I had a “touch” of luck.

…I know! I agree with you! I don’t know why I always go for the obvious puns. It’s an automatic thing. I blame something chromosomal!

Book It – In News Today: A. Meredith Walters Reveals Cover of Seductive Chaos

Seductive Chaos Banner

The long awaited third installment of A. Meredith Walters’ Bad Rep Trilogy, Seductive Chaos, will be released early this summer and she has just revealed the cover of the novel that will tell the topsy turvy love story of Cole Brandt and Vivian Baily. You will know Cole to be the lead singer from Generation Rejects, the local band that plays at nearby college bars and has been able to claim members Jordan Levitt and Garrett Bellows from the previous books, Bad Rep and Perfect Regret. Personally, I think the band is misnamed and should have been called Masturbation Objects.

Feeling Peckish – Finding Autumn by Beth Michele

Finding Autumn by Beth MicheleThis was a naughty little scamper through the horny end of the park if I have ever read one. Don’t mistake me, I enjoyed my lascivious stroll that takes off almost as soon as you walk through the park’s gate. This is the book you will want to read when your man goes out of town. Actually, that is where Finding Autumn begins… when Olivia Redmund A.K.A Autumn Winters takes a trip out of town.

Weekly Indie Word Slinger – Khalid Muhammad

032014-Word-Slinger

Khalid Muhammad has been one of the most understanding and compassionate men throughout my illness. For the last two months while I’ve been barely limping along he has been the definition of patience while this interview and the companion review were delayed. Agency Rules is a phenomenal read and this interview is one of my most favorite interviews I’ve ever done. Thank you, Khalid! You have my most sincere gratitude for your kindness and the chance to do such an incredible interview!

Tongue Wagger – Red Moon Rising by Elizabeth Kelly

RMR_667x1000If this were a TV show they would say this is the spin-off series from the original book Red Moon. Red Moon is about Avery and Tristan… let’s take just a moment to wipe our chins and settle our fluttering hearts and possibly fluttering loins at the very thought of Tristan Williams. I know that he is still giving me an afterglow even though it has been months since I got to read his sweaty doings. Phew!!! Goodness me, Elizabeth… how do you keep yourself from developing a huge ego knowing that you created such loveliness? If I were you I would just sit alone with my imaginary friends all day long and preen at my clever, naughty mind and the men it creates.

Any Day That Ends In YA – Locked by Eva Morgan

LockedCovereditI had the realization a few weeks ago that it had been a few forevers ago since I had made it a habit to review Young Adult novels and upon this revelation came the realization that I really missed reading YA books. I also found that in the treasure trove of books on my Kindle I have a lot of YA books to read and review. I am going to make an attempt to read more. But as my first choice I had to pick Eva Morgan’s Locked because when I originally read the synopsis at the release of this novel the snarky, arrogant Sherlock Holmes’ cocky comments pretty much made me fall in love. So this one is for you Sherlock! (And you Eva…)

Tongue Wagger – Anatomy by Simon Travers

Anatomy Front CoverThis Tongue Wagger comes from this week’s Word Slinger, Simon Travers. I fear that my poetry critiquing may be fearfully lacking so I will stick solely to the content of Simon’s poetry collection. It’s been fifteen years since I took my poetry course at Penn State University. Mr. Perrone taught me a great deal about poetry as well as writing it– along with writing for business, creative, technical and journalism. He told me to remember a lot of things and the only points that stick out from the many courses I took with him are: how to write a business letter, that knowing Shakespeare might be the difference in getting a job and not getting one, the proper methods of critiquing beyond preference and that when interviewing anyone it is better for both parties if you talk about things that the interviewee feel invested in and that they love. All that other stuff… it went on mental dump. I do remember often wondering if he spent a lot of time in the morning getting his hair to look like it did each day too, but he didn’t teach me that. Sadly, for Simon… my memory of stylistics in poetry fails me. But I do know what I like.
