Holding onWhat is the old saying, “Puppy dog tails and coconut shells”?–No. That definitely sounds wrong. What are Keepers made of, dammit? I think the line I was remembering is an old Voodoo spell for how to keep your neighbor’s dog from regifting digested food on your lawn.

Liese knows what keepers are made of because Frey has passed the Friend Zone Line and scored more than a few points for Team ‘This Guy Is Mine’ since he had the spotlight in Truly, Madly, Deeply, You. And we can all take a deep breath because this Keepers keeper status has kept.

This book had no true blaring faults when I read the synopsis, but when I read it I worried I might be having that feeling because it would be a “boy-centric” Sci-fi. BUT I WAS WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! It was sort of “boy-centric”story but I totally got into this book and loved it hard.

Any Day That Ends In YA – Residue by Laury Falter

ResidueI have such a soft spot for any book placed in N’awlins. I think my fascination actually began when I was an early teen reading historical romances based in early New Orleans. Ever since I’ve just been attracted to all stories set in the Big Easy. It doesn’t matter much to me what that genre of that story might be, it’s enough for me to hear things like Bourbon St. and Jackson Square oysters and beignets–I’m hooked. The setting of Residue might have been the initial appeal but this modern day Hatfields and McCoys quickly checked my head and sucked me in.
