I had never read a menage book before a few years ago when I accidently picked up Alexandra O’Hurley’s Berserker Mate’s Trilogy. I think you could sum my first expression with menage erotica could be classified as delicious. I really didn’t know what to do after I read it because at the time I didn’t even want anyone to know I had read such a book. What would people say if they knew I’d not only read a kinky book but that I liked it too? Well, you know what? Years and hundreds of kinky books later, it doesn’t matter. I’ve embraced my inner kink and love menage books and I have a thing for bondage and D/s that I happily own. Mom, these are things I don’t want to talk to you about but I’m okay with you hearing. Where am I going with all this? Well, I am building up to saying that Jennifer Kacey’s Member’s Only series is a series that is definitely on my menu. I think it’s under the, “Tasty, Mmmm… Mmmm… Good” section too. Continue Reading
Tongue Wagger – Swan Prince by Erin Lark
Foolish me, I didn’t read the synopsis of this book and requested it from Entangled based solely because I liked the cover. It’s a very nice cover, I think you will admit that the pretty is a high quality pretty. As you could imagine, or perhaps, not at all, I was surprised as hell to find out it was a m/m romance. I seem to have missed the dude on the horse while looking at the hot muscle-y-ish dude in the moonlight–blow me over with a feather! Yeah, I had to go with the pun. So it took me a couple days to come off my previous conceptions to get into this book… and there was also this thing where I don’t find swans, ducks, gooses or chickens sexy. I almost had to call foul on this lovestory. I totally laughed aloud at that one! It was good. It was a really good one! I know you chuckled. Damn you! Admit it! Continue Reading
Feeling Peckish – The Panther’s Desire by Emerald Ice
This was a really good shifter book that I just happened to pick up for free on Amazon a while ago. I had actually been having a hard time downloading books from my cloud onto my phone and bought this one to see if it would work and didn’t really have any faith in getting much out of it but I was pretty surprised.
All that being said this book is smut. It’s a lot of doing the nasty and getting one another sweaty. I personally didn’t mind because I needed to have a smut dose, I was overdue. It’s a short read with a WTF cliffhanger and I enjoyed it for the hour of ‘Calgon, take me away’ that it gave me. Please don’t pick it up thinking that this is going to be some incredibly scientific based novel that is going to get Ms. Ice a Nobel Peace Prize in inter-species erotic relations. The award Emerald Ice would be more likely to receive for this piece of passionate push-in and pull-out is best creative use of facility equipment while makin’ the nasty. Continue Reading
Tongue Wagger – Beautifully Damaged by L.A. Fiore
This book is great. But there are so many twists and turns and Dynasty moments that I sometimes wondered if Blake Carrington was going to come out at some point and suddenly Alexis would do away with Krystle and Trace would be Krystle’s brother and leave Ember for the Oil world.
This is a very deep and dark book. There were a slew of characters and the further into the story you go the more and more you find out just how they are all connected, and how totally effed up they all are–and they are all effed up. Trace is a very broken character and so many times in this book I feel like telling Ember, “Run, girl. Run away, far, far away. That is all kinds of that sort of boy who will kill you when he thinks for a second you may leave him and he will keep you in his freezer to keep you close by afterwards.” But then at the same time she would stalk him and I would shake my head and wonder ask Bunny, “Why is it he is happy she is stalking him? What is wrong with these people? Co-dependency is not a happy place, unless it’s you and me, right, Meow, Meow?” She agreed. Continue Reading
Tongue Wagger – One Night of Sin by Elle Kennedy
I have a thing about censoring myself–I don’t do it. I feel like it’s a self shaming and I should allow my inner dork out and allow it to go crazy. I made the “frame” for this yesterday and The first thing that came to when I sat down to write this review was, I’m bringing sexy back. Well, I didn’t really think that was where this was where it would go when I read the book but it’s a damn good theme for this book by Elle Kennedy. Continue Reading
Book It – In News Today: Gideon Reveals His Mmmm Mmmm Cover.
I am more than willing to admit that I am a big effing fangirl when it comes to Airicka Phoenix books. I love them like sharks love chum and I act a little frenzied when I get a taste too. When I read Octavian’s Undoing I was in a hotel in Anaheim, CA while my husband was enjoying Blizz-con. I was so gone on Octavian that he gave me a sore back. Well only because the electric socket in the room was faulty and I had to perch awkward-like on the chair to keep my e-reader plugged in. I forgive him for my discomfort and pain. Riley was the better woman between the pair of us my sore body and yearning heart understood his choice. Where is this rambling going?… I couldn’t wait for the next book and I no longer have to wish on falling stars. Gideon’s story is to come soon! Airicka has revealed the cover of his book and announced that he will be arriving to tell me his story in September. Fear not, there are still a couple more Maxwells.
Any Day That Ends In YA – Falling For The Ghost of You by Nicole Christie
I picked this book up because it was in my Goodreads recommendations. I retain that fascination I’ve had since I was twelve for love affairs between Jane Doe and Famous Rocker/Actor/Model/PIRATE–And yes, whenever you encounter the word PIRATE, it must be spelled in all caps and said with a bit of a guttural growl and a look of grim constipation.
Most of the time books like Falling For the Ghost of You give me a few hours of happy. I get over it like all good things and I mellow back to that general, I might be bloating or it could be constipation feeling, then I read another book. This won’t be happening with this book. It was so hilarious that I was belly laughing so loud my husband thought I was emotionally unhinged and neck deep in psychotic hysterics. Continue Reading

Book It – In News Today: Here and Now, Lexi Ryan Gives Sneak Peak of All For This
A tempting sneak peek to the long awaited third and final installment to Lexi Ryan’s Here and Now Trilogy is being released today. Long awaited to people like me who are addicted to the story. Actually, Lexi has been putting these books out at a blessedly short succession that feel like forever to those who are on edge at the cliffhangers book to book. This excerpt gives you a little look into Max’s side of the new clusterbutterfly that went into effect at the end of Fall To You. Personally, I’m Team Nate but when I see Max’s POV I don’t know what the hell to think because the guy just doesn’t seem like the douche canoe I want him to be so I can hate and forget him. Damn you Jacob Black for making me so freaking on the fence about love triangles; you rotten, furry, little shit! I almost hope that at the end of All For This Hanna gets her memory back and remembers she is actually a lesbian and has been seeing a woman behind all their backs. GRRRL POWA!
Any Day That Ends in YA – Summon by Penelope Fletcher
Let me start this off with saying that I liked the original name of the books in this series and the branding. If you don’t know what I’m talking about the first book was once called Demon Girl instead of Glamour and had a beautiful alternate cover that I honestly felt was more inline with the story and just more appealing. It was just before Enchant was released that Penelope renamed and rebranded the books which at the time lead me on the road to Holy What The Hell? Nothing like being in the middle of a series and suddenly have it disappear and be looking for a third book which should be named Demon Dark only to constantly have the book Enchant come up in the search in it’s stead. Note to authors: This is a bad, bad, bad idea. Don’t do this. Save your need to change things around for feng shui-ing your home and re-organizing your underwear drawer. Rename your family members and pets. Do not play with your income, readership or me. I’m testy and over opinionated and not afraid to tell you that this is all 40 days and 40 nights a dumb ass move.
