Weekend Pick Me Up – Craving Constellations by Nicole Jacquelyn

Craving Constellations - Nicole JacquelynEvery once in a while I find that I’m taken aback when I wrongly judge a book by it’s cover and find that my assumption, or perhaps presumption, rewards me with a very generous boon. When I read the synopsis of Craving Constellations and compared it with the cover I let my mind do a good amount of cancelling out. I will not allow you to do the same. This novel by Nicole Jacquelyn is phenomenal, but it has nothing to do with how attractive the cover is; it is pure gold inside it’s the wrapper.

He Said, She Said – Making Love 101: Lucy Felthouse

Making Love 101Lucy Felthouse brought me a good deal of sunshine and dirty minded happiness in offering to let me review her novel, Stately Pleasures. My body may still be feeble and weak because four months of being ill is just plain old crazy talk but this book is just what the doctor ordered and I had no issue taking my medicine. Lucy took the time to talk about how she makes the love that makes the reader satisfaction and I am sharing it with you. Thanks Lucy, for the chat and the naughty book read while I am too sick to be naughty! Continue Reading

Makin’ The Love Monday – Stately Pleasures by Lucy Felthouse

Stately Pleasures - Lucy FelthousesOccasionally there are is a book where within it’s pages I find a character particularly alluring for the reason that he appeals to the rather dark and submissive part of me. Some little part of me wakes up and pays extra attention while I read the kinky doings and it seems to tune in a little more to his parts and look at him a little more keenly than all others in the novel. Stately Pleasures is a BDSM menage love story and the two male doms are both very attractive… but Lucy Felthouse clearly tapped into some cosmic collective unconscious that knew my buttons and how to push them when she created the hero Jeremy Davenport. Hello, Sir! Would you like to play master and servant?

Tongue Wagger – Relentless Liberation by L.J. Fine

Relentless Liberation - A.J. FineYou ever see a book and when you read the synopsis it smacks of a book you really loved and you have to have a bite of it because it must taste like that other book… after all it looks the same. I mean aren’t all veggie chilis just veggie chilis?

Yeah… and everyone is named Pete and we all come from Texas.

Relentless Liberation sounded very similar to Jamie McGuire’s Beautiful Disaster. Shy, drab, bookish Mina Roper goes with her gal pal to an underground boxing fight and she sees the muscular fineness of Tyler Serano who likes making other men hurt. Innocent and meek Mina knows Tyler is out of her league but it doesn’t stop her from feeding her addiction for ogling his guns as they deliver the damage every Tuesday, like clockwork. Even to you it sounds sorta, kinda, a little, maybe a bit similar, no?

Tongue Wagger – Agency Rules – Never An Easy Day At The Office by Khalid Muhammad

Agency Rules Updated Cover 01:19

I don’t generally go too far afield of the genres I self medicate with and it means I miss out on thousands of truly incredible novels. I think the truly ironic thing about my narrow reading choices is that when I watch Netflix–and this is very rarely done–all I ever watch is action movies, crime shows and true crime shows about murderers and people who get beefed. I have the scariest Joss Whedonesque morbid enjoyment of a good death than most people could even conceive. So it’s rather chuckle-able that when I am reading it’s all hot breathing, skin against skin, and flowers and chocolates.

When Khalid Muhammad sent me his message to be part of Word Slinger Project I was thirsty to read his book but unsure as to how I would feel about it… I shouldn’t have been. I should have been worried about how much money I’d be pouring into Amazon looking for another lethal Kamal.
