Any Day That Ends in YA: Resisting the Rebel by Lisa Brown Roberts

Resisting the Rebel by Lisa Brown Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What do you call a book that you have a major thing for? Is it my love bookfriend? Or should I go with the classic and say that I want to marry it? Cool? That works. ‘Cause I do! I want to marry this book!

Lisa Brown Roberts totally sucked me into this book with her super comfortable characters. The atmosphere and personalities flow so seamlessly that you won’t notice how much time has passed before you are turning the last page. With a flooded market it feels that snappy, sassy, realistic teen romances are harder to find. Organically driven plot lines and engaging dialogue often are sacrificed for higher word counts creating these exposition heavy stories. I love when my stories are told to me by showing me what has happened and not told to me as a summary. When done properly you get an epic and worthy book.

Hello Epic and Worthy Book, I am your bride. Continue Reading

Quickie Review: Being Green by Cynthia Sax

Being Green by Cynthia Sax
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a short story in the Cyborg Sizzle series telling the story of Green, Shelby and the wilting Windy. Back in Releasing Rage it was established that Green’s best friend was his plant Windy and she had saved him when he was at his lowest. Green was concerned because she was in need of repair. After being threatened to be jettisoned into space, a shuttling that she survived, Windy has been suffering a speedy extinction. Continue Reading

Quickie Review: Zach by Jane S. White

I am one of those people who fails to be impressed by anything that should be easy but becomes too difficult. Having a ebook that begins by giving you two chapters, and then sticking another book in the middle is a bad. To clarify: the second chapter gives you a link to the end of the ebook where Zach, the book, picks back up. I am lazy as hell in my daily life and traditional as all get out in book formatting; clicking that one extra button dropped this review a full star. Continue Reading

Makin’ the Love Mondays: The Untouchable Earl by Amy Sandas

Untouchable-Earl
This is a bit of a Beauty and the Beast story. Lord Harte, Avenell Slade, has dealt with a rather desperate affliction all his life. He has a medical condition that makes his skin so sensitive that it is painful to be touched by another. Initially he searches out the help of Madam Pendragon, a brothel owner with an iron glove. Pendragon enforces discretion and punishes loose tongues; no one would dare gossip that Lord Harte has been serviced by her brothel in anyway, much less rumor a health issue. One doesn’t mess with the steely madam, she’s cunningly intelligent and not afraid to play Eve over Adam. Poor Adam.

Cover Lover: Playboy Pilot by Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland

Playboy-Pilot-Header

I have been in LURVE with the Keeland/Ward combination since Cocky Bastard. I am almost peeing in excitement for this cover reveal and release announcement!
Yeah–I really shouldn’t tell people about my happy induced incontinence.

I think you need to pick up some of the books these chicks have penned. You will lust for their heroes and adore their heroines… and worship ViNelopie. I need to hashtag that.
