Quickie Reviews: Until July by Aurora Rose Reynolds

I liked all the Until books by Aurora Rose Reynolds, I mean the original ones. I had a lot of problems with Asher because so many times he boarded on obsessive and abusive. Nico and Trevor I was totally on board with. As I read Until July I realized that Cash left no impression at all. Sorry, Cash, but maybe there is hope for me remembering your progeny.

I know I’ve met a book that stumps me when I really don’t know how to start my review. Best put, I liked the concept and characters of this book but I’m not that hot over the new community. I’m so done with MC books. Can we move on to something else now? I dunno, maybe we can do tornado chasers, or modern day Titans–like the gods. We could do a fantastic dark erotic where tornado chasers battle the Titans; contemporary twist on the Titanomachy.

But, yeah. MC novels are getting me sleepy.

November and Asher’s eldest child has met a rough and tumble biker with a heart of gold. July has all the vinegar and sugar of her mama and tasers Wes on their first meeting. Not her fault really since his biker buds and he chases her down when they think she just tried to make him wipe out. The wiping out comes when he lays eyes on her and she lets him know that no one is going to push a Mayson around. Her daddy built her better than that.

The bikers are all ‘good’ bikers, they don’t push guns, girls or drugs. Ex-military and pure of heart these heroes are true heroes making the whole biker thing somewhat irrelevant. Maybe they could have all been bad boy bowlers instead. A rough and tumble bowling club that fights Titans! That would be pure gold!

Series where everyone falls into convenient relationships bugs me out. Could be because there was all of 500 people in my entire high school and I had to ask my mom and dad if I was related to my crushes before I could date them AND do the girl buddy thing with my friends to avoid dating their ex-es. My choices were slim and in the end we all fell into place like some of these plots. I don’t like it.

What I do like are the characters. They are well developed, if not for the fact that all Aurora Rose Reynolds dudes are cut from the same mold. They aren’t the same guy over and over, but they were made at the same time, in the same facility, in the SAME mold.

I did have a hard time trying to figure out which Mayson belonged to which family and she mentions ALL of them which spins one’s head at times. I don’t think this is as good as Until Trevor or Until Nico but I am not giving up because I want to read Until Jax.
