Sin Bin – On The Surface by Kate Willoughby

(Note from Ali: Melanie Ting has sweetly sent me a few “guest reviews” in the subject of her own books, HOCKEY! In view of her benevolence and predilictions… I have named her reviews “SIN BIN”–to those of you lost to the world of hockey it’s where you go when you’ve been naughty and are on time-out. This is a play on words… Mel’s not in trouble, she’s actually superstar! Thanks, Mel for being a peach. Baskets of kittens and buckets of kisses. <3)

Sin Bin - On The Surface by Kate Willoughby

Okay, it’s the return of the Substitute Reviewer. (It’s me, Melanie Ting, have you already forgotten the good times we shared? Damn it, I thought we really connected. No wonder you never called.) While Ali lies on the sofa, surrounded by nurse cats, I am reviewing books for her. However, I am a writer, not a reviewer. In fact, I don’t know how reviewers do their job. If I enjoy a book, I get so involved in the story I forget everything else. Afterwards, all I can say is: “I loved it!” And I loved Kate Willoughby’s On The Surface.

He Said, She Said – Making Love 101: Missy Jane

Making Love 101

Mistress of Making with the Hot and Sexy, Missy Jane stopped by (some time ago but was very patient with me while I have been dying) and chatted with me about the steamy parts of her novel Erotic Images. Missy is no freshman to Romance and Erotica, she has written over fifteen novels and novellas across several genres. She will be releasing the first in her newest series Gargoyle Masters: Born of Stone, later this month. I’m waiting for it like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. I can almost taste it!

Book It – In News Today: All The Things In One Hot Mess

Friends…Kittens, Writers, Readers, Sexy Man-imales and Fro-yo Outback Safari Locations Specializing in Disease,

I have been trying to keep in touch with the authors, blog tour promoters and kind folks who just hang around to tell me I have a way with words–for the last four and half months while I have been sick and trying as hard as I can to get through day to day things regarding All The Things Inbetween. Everyone has been exceptionally understanding when I’ve been delayed, worked backwards, when my tentatives became complete unreliability and everyone accepted my many apologies like champs. Thank you. I appreciate your understanding and compassion. And effin’ hell, I’m sorry. Continue Reading

Any Day That Ends In YA – Just A Touch by Brittany DeLys

Just A Touch - Brittany DeLysI mentioned a few weeks ago that I have been remiss in my YA book reading. I happened to find Brittany DeLys requesting reviewers for Just A Touch on Goodreads and I liked the description of this story. I lucked out because she was looking for ten reviewers and I think from the look of the amount of people who had replied to the post, I snuck in under the wire. I guess you could say I had a “touch” of luck.

…I know! I agree with you! I don’t know why I always go for the obvious puns. It’s an automatic thing. I blame something chromosomal!

Weekend Pick Me Up – Craving Constellations by Nicole Jacquelyn

Craving Constellations - Nicole JacquelynEvery once in a while I find that I’m taken aback when I wrongly judge a book by it’s cover and find that my assumption, or perhaps presumption, rewards me with a very generous boon. When I read the synopsis of Craving Constellations and compared it with the cover I let my mind do a good amount of cancelling out. I will not allow you to do the same. This novel by Nicole Jacquelyn is phenomenal, but it has nothing to do with how attractive the cover is; it is pure gold inside it’s the wrapper.

Feeling Peckish – Hellhound by Rue Volley

HellhoundSexy cover! Sexy tagline: Hunt. Kill. Survive. Sexy Indie Publisher Name: Hot Ink Press. How can I say, ‘no’ to all the sexy. It would be like me turning down Tae Yang or Dongwoo. Could. Not. Be. Done. JSYK those are two of my most dreamy of sexy Kpop Idols. They make me have hot flashes and sometimes when they do sexy eyes I have to go have sorbet and think of the movie Ice Age. That is just how I felt when I first saw this book cover and then I felt more of that when I began reading it and met the characters. Gunnar… mmmm… blue hair. He made me think of Key when he had blue hair. And then I went from mmmm… blue hair to mmmm… Gunnar. And he made me stop thinking of Key. The book is many kittens good. Good, sexy kittens from hell. Hellkittens.
