On September 23, 2014 Tijan posted a challenge to her followers on her Facebook account, Tijan’s Books, that the reward for reaching 27,000 likes would be a teaser from the long awaited second Carter Reed novel. Carter Reed is the book which tells the gritty love story of Emma and the man she has always loved but has become a powerful figure in the crime world, Carter Reed. The book was the first adult novel Tijan wrote and continued her signature style while catapulting her out of the YA genre into the NA/Contemporary Adult Romance genre.
What’s the one thing you can enjoy only by yourself and is better than chocolate?
This is the first Word Slinger I’ve done in a very long time and A.J. has been wonderfully patient in my delays. I discovered A.J. when I downloaded her novel Unintentional Virgin and I loved her characters and couldn’t wait to read more of her novels. She blew me away when I found her writing to be incredibly varied and her next two novels to be worlds different; showing her ability to write with an incredible amount of depth and understanding about the human condition. You may find yourself with whiplash moving between her first novel to her second and third books, but the ability for an author to be so versatile is amazing, whether or not it’s your taste. I got the dish on Minxy-Milly when she let me do a Making Love 101 Q&A this past week. The Queen of Grunting and Mistress of Moaning took a few minutes to let me get inside her head where she revealed the inner doings of how she creates love in her novels. Apparently, and thankfully, it is not at all like shifter mating because if she tried to convince me that she wrote great books using pheromones, wine and doggy style I’d have called a foul and demanded pics!
