Tongue Wagger – Erotic Images by Missy Jane

eroticimagesDo you ever read a book and get a happy about it because it’s within one of your fields of expertise or interests? I have certain books that are MUST READS for me. I never pass up a book about tattooed bad boys. It’s actually become an issue where I buy so many I will likely NEVER read them. I always buy books from authors from Northeastern Pennsylvania because it’s a shout out to my home region. Love New Orleans, so I pick up all the books with that as the locale. Asian heros… rare but totally induces Amazon binges. Medieval Christian Art or Latin slant because my Bachelor’s of Arts double major was Art History of Medieval Christian Times, and Roman Civilization and Western Studies.

Lastly! Photography. I have an Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts Photography. Fine Arts Photography means that I play around with alternative processing, mediums, filters, films and lens. I did some mixed media and did rather well winning in art shows and had a few private shows of my own. There is nothing I miss more than the smell of the darkroom. So self-medicating with romances with photographers works quite well. — I’ve never taken naked pictures of strangers, but I have paid stray kitties in tuna for some impromptu nature shots.

Feeling Peckish – Claiming Ecstasy by Madeline Pryce

ClaimingEcstasy_MSRMaddie is one of my besties and while I will preface this review with one of those ridiculously trite, “I was given this book in exchange for a fair and truthful yadda yadda… cup of sugar, bowl of cherries and basket of kittens. I review books and I wouldn’t give anything other than my complete and honest opinion simply because I have an overinflated ego and enjoy hearing my own witty repartee. Kissing arse and dropping names only takes away from time I can be spending talking about how great the novel reflects on my personality, why would I do that?

So, please, allow me to drop the beat and mark the flow and I’ll catch this rhythm ’cause I’m a mistress of the words and measure, yo!

It’s midnight… I just totally busted a hip-hop line that MCA or Ad-rock would have wrote in the 80’s. I blame the fact that I’m on psych meds (which I messed with my own dosage tonight seeking a little body/mind detachment. I added an anti-inflammatory, Motrin and then an hour and half later Tylenol with Hydrocodone. I’m trying to not feel my fingers or back, it’s selectively working; I feel Jello-ey and mushy–but the hurty parts still hurt. Eff’in arthritis, I wish the person who thought this disease up gets a lifetime supply of stale bread.

Feeling Peckish – Indelible Ink by Marie Lark

Indelible Ink - Marie Lark

I have that thing… you know, that thing where when I read a book I can see everything that is happening in it as if it were a movie or TV show. Perhaps it’s because of the way I have such vivid dreams and I’m a crazy daydreamer? Or the photographer in me that captures images of all kinds… Maybe it’s just the fact that I have to see things to understand them. Why do I mention this here? Because Marie Lark’s Indelible Ink had me picturing the nearest “downtown” to where I grew up in by the second page of her novella and her characters felt like home too. I couldn’t help but see the entire setting of her book as Scranton, PA.

Book It – In News Today: All The Things In One Hot Mess

Friends…Kittens, Writers, Readers, Sexy Man-imales and Fro-yo Outback Safari Locations Specializing in Disease,

I have been trying to keep in touch with the authors, blog tour promoters and kind folks who just hang around to tell me I have a way with words–for the last four and half months while I have been sick and trying as hard as I can to get through day to day things regarding All The Things Inbetween. Everyone has been exceptionally understanding when I’ve been delayed, worked backwards, when my tentatives became complete unreliability and everyone accepted my many apologies like champs. Thank you. I appreciate your understanding and compassion. And effin’ hell, I’m sorry. Continue Reading

Any Day That Ends In YA – Just A Touch by Brittany DeLys

Just A Touch - Brittany DeLysI mentioned a few weeks ago that I have been remiss in my YA book reading. I happened to find Brittany DeLys requesting reviewers for Just A Touch on Goodreads and I liked the description of this story. I lucked out because she was looking for ten reviewers and I think from the look of the amount of people who had replied to the post, I snuck in under the wire. I guess you could say I had a “touch” of luck.

…I know! I agree with you! I don’t know why I always go for the obvious puns. It’s an automatic thing. I blame something chromosomal!
