Ella James is one of my favorite authors. I like her Young Adult, New Adult and Adult Romance novels–I don’t think I have ever read a stinker by her. She has dabbled in Paranormal, Sci-fi, Contemporary and Erotic genres; writing short stories, novellas and full length books. Trapped is one of those awesome Sci-fi YA Romances that will have you buying up all of Ella James titles just like I did… and you will be combing the night sky for a Nick of your own!
When I read Here, the first book in the trilogy of the same name, I fell in love and I couldn’t wait for Trapped to become available. As if it were a cosmic joke I missed the release and didn’t find out it had been released until aliens sent me colorful html based email about it. When I purchased the book from Amazon the cruel sisters, the Fates, decided to enjoy screwing with me and they allowed Amazon to take my money show my purchase in my Kindle list but make the book temporary undownloadable. It’s like having what you want but not being able to have what you want. It took two more days for me to wait to be able to begin reading Trapped. I guess you could say: I was Trapped without my Trapped.
You cannot read Trapped without reading Here. It’s illegal in all fifty states in America and many countries throughout the World. I have heard it has caused civil unrest and women have killed husbands for such insult. Why? Because this book takes up not soon after Here ends. Vera, Milo and Nick are on the run from those baddies trying to hunt them down and Nick is still trying to convince Vera not to Goddess Kali the entire planet.
I had some concerns that this novel wouldn’t be able to pick up or maintain the level of tension or that the continuity might suffer by the fact that a true shift had to occur from the first to second book. Ella belted this baby out of the park and her introduction of Milo’s Cousin, West, to the story added the perfect amount of levity needed to save the ever increasing complexity of the plot. Westie is my bestie!
This series is a Trilogy and the end of this second novel takes a very brave and drastic step into a big pile of the kitty poop that may give the folks from Third Rock From The Sun ulcers. I know that book three is going to have to come out guns ablazing to really swing an ending such as this book sets up. It almost makes me wish it were a four part series because it feels Trapped feels lot more like a halfway point.
Milo and Nick–because I know you are on the edge of your seats dying to get a kibble about how they are doing in Trapped–are crossing intergalactic lovey dovey boundaries in Trapped and even with Vera’s eyes rolling around in her skull over their sugary concern for one another and goo goo calf looks they doomed lovers continue to fall in love with one another. Run on sentence from Hell.
And then at the very end … Spoiler XXXX happens and Milo XXXXes Nick as the hive XXXXs. Milo can’t XXXX anything about XXXX anymore and Vera has to XXXX to XXXX to get her to XXXX Nick. Setup for book three.
I recommend Ella’s Stained Series if you like this novel, it is a paranormal YA Romance/Adventure. Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Lux Series is a must. And not necessarily the same subject but similar feel, would be Starfire Angels by Melanie Nilles.

Here Synopsis:
Milo Mitchell’s life used to be charmed, but that was before her family dissolved, she went a little crazy, and her best friends started acting more like strangers. Spending Saturday morning in a treehouse with a stun gun for company and a herd of deer for friends is the only exciting thing in her life…until she shoots a fawn and finds her dart stuck in a guy.
Her gorgeous victim is dressed in a Brioni tux and armed with a hanky. He has no idea who or where he is. Afraid her dart caused his amnesia, Milo takes him in, names him Nick, and vows to help him solve his mystery. Soon the pair find Nick’s face in a newspaper obituary, and Nick beings to have strange, ethereal memories of Milo–who is sure she’s never met him. Suddenly Nick knows things he shouldn’t know and is doing things he shouldn’t do. When the Department of Defense shows up, Nick and Milo run–toward a shocking conclusion that could destroy both their worlds.
