What is more beautiful than a sunset over the ocean or the early blooms of summer? Well some people might say the smile of their child and others might say the ruins of Angkor Wat… for me it’s the defeat of Jack Hunter. To watch the Ice Man fall is a truly a stunning thing and Sara Wolf, I give you two thumbs up and then I will find you more thumbs because you deserve a sea of them. It tickles my tickles that Savage Delight was the delightful inner feelies of a thawing Ice Prince.<\/p>\n

BUT it wasn’t a Jackfest… (when I say that it sounds kind of creepy pornographic) I will toss in the Isis schtuff that was just as good as before. She is wickedly witty, awesomely snarky, fantastically snappy, greatly warmly loyal to friends and when with Jack she is like a cat rubbed backwards. The amnesia schtuff that was frustrating, crustating and plain old turn-me-into-a-werewolf and make me howl at the moon maddening. I love her. I want her to have what I have–which is the book, so she knows what the hell’s bells is going on! Why won’t you just give her a YouTube tutorial on girl engines and boy engines and how to grease motors? Le sigh… This book is wonderful in it’s troubling exasperating Jack and Isis going in circles-ness. If only something magical would happen… you know? Like maybe a Fairy Godmother would show up and give them some magic beans that would take them far, far away from Crapville and all the craptastic crap sammiches they are getting served at the crapaterias and crap cafes.<\/p>\n
After the mad happenings of Lovely Vicious where Leo came and ruined the day and then Jack came and saved it, Isis is still in the hospital. In a bad twist of fate she has befriended Jack’s Sophie and in ‘the jokes on Isis’ way EVERYONE is aware that Jack is the blank space in her head. Since she’s been admitted he has been absent and has not come to visit Sophie which has set hospital staff rumoring and caused Isis distress because she doesn’t even know she knows him. However, she also isn’t aware that her new good friend Sophie is building a good deal of resentment because she feels Isis is like her in all the scary ways that count but has everything Sophie wants and can’t have. And that is causing the extremely fragile girl to crack her crackers.<\/p>\n
Jack has been in emotional hell since the moment Isis woke up not remembering him. For him that moment basically marked the stop of his entire world and if possible he is even more screwed now than he was before he met her. He’s been trying to stay away from her because it’s just too painful to be near her and know she doesn’t know him–but when they cross paths and he finds out that she knows they knew one another he feels like his world has begun again because he exists in hers. Jack’s kind of become a girlie man, awww. Really, I mean it. Awww!<\/p>\n
The better part of the story is actually more about Isis putting her world together and Jack trying to distract himself from the one he was part of. Some of the questions regarding Jack’s alter ego Jaden and how he would be able to leave that profession are addressed and for me it’s more or less a realistic complication. Sara has brought in a lot of other interests into Savage Delight and I’m interested to see how they play out and how she resolves Isis’s mental junk in her trunk. It’s not just the amnesia, Girlfriend really is balls at dealing with everything.<\/p>\n
Beside the J&I parts of ye ole tale, there is more of what happened in the woods with Wren, Avery, Sophie and Jack revealed. Kayla and Isis get pulled into the mysterious tragedy of the past and the revelations impact all those associated in different ways, leaving new wounds, healing old wounds and revealing old scars. Even with what you do find out the suspense is still going and you really only get the smallest hint of the pain and a sketch of the outcome; the story is still locked up tight with the witnesses of the crime.<\/p>\n
This book is amazekittens and I recommend it for anyone who has ever read a book and liked the experience of letters put together to form words.<\/p>\n
