\"untamed\"<\/a>Why is it that Sunday burnt me the eff out? I read half of one book, did my emails, read all of another book, did the other Makin’ The Love review, did my homework for my Mysticism and Psychology class, made my schedule for the week and it’s 8pm and crap in a hat. I’m exhausted. And I want a foot rub!<\/p>\n

I found this Untamed Hunger<\/a> on Amazon when I was watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer with my husband and randomly inputting different things in the search fields. This popped up with “Sci-Fi Mating Romance<\/a>“. I bought it because it had a naked man on the front and it was a book about kittens. I’m a simple woman. I know what I like.<\/p>\n

The Alpha Colony is a secured facility where Morphs are kept. The military keep close guard over them in order to provide policing and to ensure no Morphs escape. Major Sasha Young has a rather good rapport with one of the denizens in Alpha Colony and despite being a human, Grayson Evans and the other cat Morphs in his sector seem to leave her to roam the colony without any problems. She does get reprimanded for this a great deal but Sasha truly cares about what happens to the Morphs under her supervision. She might care about Grayson more than she truly is permitted as a guard.<\/p>\n

When a female is wounded and Sasha has no other means to get answers she goes to Grayson. Only he offers a challenge, nothing is for free. She must allow him to be with her one night for her answers: all the answers about the morph world. \u00a0Major Young can’t be with a morph. Sasha wonders if she could put aside her military position within the Colony and let the woman within her be with him for one night to understand it better.<\/p>\n

Sadly, by the following morning she finds that she not only understands the colony less but she understands the entire world outside it less as well. Strangely she the experience hasn’t changed her but she still is not the person she has always thought she was.<\/p>\n

This book was good in so many ways. I am generally not one to complain about wanton erotica but there were too many times in this book where I would have liked to have heard more about the Morph-ology. I definitely have no issue with the alpha\/dominant thing, but sometimes parts of this felt wholly clunky to me; the parts where it worked it worked really well though.<\/p>\n

I loved Grayson and Sasha and the development of their story was paced decently however you come to the last part and there is this climax (no pun intended) and then this strange titillation thrown in for the sake of “full submission” and then it’s chopped off (not the titillation, the story). This novel badly needed the entire ending rewritten or edited. I have no issue with the titillation part but it seemed slap-happy stuck in there. Like when you are playing a joke on your roommate in college, the one who never leaves the sock on the door when they are having crazy monkey sex with really hairy unattractive guys she picks up in bar parking lots and as a joke you re-write the end of one of one of her final papers with some Snape\/Dumbledore erotica. It felt disjointed.<\/p>\n

As for the book overall, I am really happy to have looked up “Sci-Fi Mating Romance” and found this. I mean… with all the other free books I got that night and the eight I bought, added to the five hundred already on my Kindle–this is like finding a trophy fish. This book is recommended for fans of Laurann Dohner’s<\/a> New Species<\/a> books or The Panther’s Desire<\/a> by Emerald Ice.<\/a><\/p>\n
