\u201cMaybe? It happens on my deck and we just started so I don\u2019t really know all the rules. Just that there\u2019s wine on Wednesday and we\u2019re having it at my house because I have a great deck and an ocean view.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toni made a face. \u201cCareful, you have her over for too much Wednesday wine, you might not be able to get rid of her.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It bothered Katherine that Toni had such a negative reaction to Megan. She didn\u2019t understand the root of it, but she would find out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou probably have lots of friends,\u201d Katherine said. \u201cYou grew up here. You have a big family. Megan and I don\u2019t.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHer? She\u2019s like Malibu Barbie with a Southern accent. The chicks who drive their Mercedes SUVs into my garage probably fell all over her when she moved here.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katherine enjoyed the way that Toni painted mental pictures. It made understanding her intentions much easier. \u201cYou might think that, but I don\u2019t think it\u2019s true. She said she finds people here very cold. I think she\u2019s had a hard time making friends.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHuh.\u201d Toni\u2019s eyebrows rose. \u201cWell, maybe I\u2019ll join you for Wine Wednesday then.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
